Local News in Brief : No Murder Charges in 2 Fetal Deaths
The district attorney’s office has decided not to file murder charges against two Pomona men arrested over the weekend in connection with the unrelated deaths of two fetuses, police said.
No charges were filed against Anthony Coleman, 19, who was arrested Sunday night after a 16-year-old girl visiting his apartment was wounded by a gunshot and her full-term fetus killed, said Pomona Police Detective Ed McLean. According to witnesses, Coleman was attempting to take a .38-caliber revolver away from a man who was playing with the gun when it went off, McLean said.
Armando Cisneros, 39, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon and felony spousal abuse for allegedly knocking Maria Barrios, 32, to the ground in a fight Saturday night at their apartment, McLean said. Barrios, who was three months’ pregnant, later miscarried.
