A teen-ager who escaped from a minimum security jail near Saugus was being sought today, the Los Angeles County sheriff’s department reported.
Jonathan Porter, 18, escaped from the Peter J. Pitchess Honor Rancho sometime between 7 p.m. Thursday when prisoners were counted and 10 p.m., deputies said.
Deputies do not know how Porter, who was wearing a prison uniform, escaped from the jail facility on The Old Road near the Antelope Valley Freeway.
Porter was arrested March 8 by Los Angeles police on a conspiracy warrant and was to be kept in jail until April 20, deputies said. Other details about Porter and his arrest were not available.
