UCLA Stretches Its Winning Streak to 40 Dual Meets
UCLA extended its winning streak to 40 consecutive track and field dual meets by defeating Azusa Pacific, 97-53, and Cal State Northridge, 107-47, Saturday at Drake Stadium.
CS Northridge beat Azusa Pacific, 88-61, while the Bruins recorded 98 points in triangular scoring, to 50 points for Azusa Pacific and 43 for CS Northridge.
UCLA’s women’s team defeated CS Northridge, 96-40; California, 101-32, and Azusa Pacific, 120-7. In triangular scoring, the Bruins had 96 points, with Cal finishing second with 38; CS Northridge was next with 34, and Azusa Pacific scored 2 points.
Kevin Williams of UCLA won the men’s 100 meters in 10.54 seconds and anchored the Bruins’ 400-meter relay team, which won in 40.29.
