A federal judge refused to dismiss charges against two agents accused of using cash and threats of violence to recruit college athletes as clients.
The move cleared the way for a trial next week.
Norby Walters and Lloyd Bloom are charged with racketeering, extortion, mail fraud and wire fraud. Their case has a long list of prospective witnesses, including NFL Commissioner Pete Rozelle.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Howard Pearl said he expects the trial to begin late Monday.
