ANAHEIM BUILDINGS AFFECTED BY PROPOSED SPRINKLER ORDINANCE
A proposed ordinance would require all buildings of 55 feet or more built before 1974 to be retrofitted with sprinkler systems. (A state law enacted in 1974 required sprinklers in all new buildings.) Twelve existing older high-rises would be affected.
They are:
Inn at the Park (14 stories), 1855 S. Harbor Blvd.
Disneyland Hotel (Sierra Tower-11 stories; Marina Tower-11 stories), 1150 W. Cerritos Ave.
Bank of America (10 stories), 300 S. Harbor Blvd.
Quality Inn (9 stories), 616 W. Convention Way.
Grand Hotel (9 stories), 7 W. Freedman Way.
Kaiser Hospital (8 stories), 441 N. Lakeview Ave.
Holiday Inn (8 stories), 1850 S. Harbor Blvd.
Howard Johnsons (7 stories), 1380 S. Harbor Blvd.
Rockwell International (7 stories), 3370 E. Miraloma Ave.
California Federal Savings (6 stories), 600 N. Euclid St.
Safeguard Building (6 stories), 505 N. Euclid.
