Dataproducts Plans to Buy Echodata for $7.9 Million

Dataproducts Corp., a Woodland Hills computer-printer maker, said it has agreed to buy Echodata Corp. in Atlanta for about $7.9 million.

Echodata is a privately owned manufacturer of computer-printer supplies. The companies said they have been discussing the acquisition since last July.

Echodata, which has 300 employees, said its sales for the fiscal year ended April 30 will be about $15 million.
