Local News in Brief : Newport Beach : 4 Honored for Educating Public About Sciences

The Museum of Natural History and Science on Tuesday honored four authors and the Clipboard editor of The Times Orange County Edition for their contributions toward educating the public about the county’s natural history and science.
Honored were:
- Joan Pizzo, author of the children’s books “Little Crumb” and “Amy Avocet.”
- Carol Stadum, a Cal State Fullerton professor honored for her many books and articles about county geology and paleontology.
- Jack and Mike Couffer, who co-wrote “Salt Marsh Summer.” Jack Couffer is also an Academy Award nominee for his nature films, which include “Ring of Bright Water,” and “Jonathan Livingston Seagull.”
- Tom Reinken, Costa Mesa-based editor of the Clipboard page in the Orange County Life section of The Times Orange County Edition.
