Gauchos Deal Pacific Another Loss
STOCKTON — Carrick DeHart scored 15 points and Paul Johnson added 13 to lead UC Santa Barbara to a 70-66 victory over University of the Pacific in a Big West Conference game Saturday night.
Santa Barbara improved to 18-5 overall and 9-5 in the Big West. Pacific fell to 5-18 overall and 1-13. It was UOP’s 11th consecutive loss.
The Gauchos led, 33-28, at halftime after leading by up to eight points during the first half. The Tigers pulled to within two points in the second half at 41-39 on a basket by Don Lyttle with 13:22 remaining.
But Santa Barbara pulled ahead and was not threatened again, building a lead of 12 points with 6:42 left in the game.
