I was born colored, grew up Negro, and today, as a black woman, I am proud to be an African American--however, overall is the unique culture of the New Orleans’ Creole. Imagine my surprise and delight when I read the great article by Ginger Thompson in the Metro Section (Feb. 5).
Creoles love their adopted city of Los Angeles, and are ever grateful for the many opportunities which have been afforded them here. We are deeply involved in every aspect of its community life, but a part of our souls is always way down yonder in New Orleans!
