Upper Bay Project

Regarding the article “A New Day Dawning for Upper Bay” (Feb. 1), it is wonderful to see expanding opportunities for education about the Back Bay. Introducing children to this ecological reserve can’t help but make them more responsible, civic-minded adults. The plaque shown in your photograph is one of three that I built in 1982 for my Eagle Scout project with the Boy Scouts of America.
The Department of Fish and Game was so careful in advising me on the integration of this small construction with the environment that I am confident the proposed enhancements will be carried out with the least possible disturbance of the ecosystem itself.
