THE PREPS : Soccer Roundup : Valencia Girls Clinch Orange League Title With 8-0 Victory

Debbie Laporte scored three goals to help Valencia High School clinch the Orange League girls’ soccer title with an 8-0 victory over Savanna Tuesday at Savanna.
Michelle Cruz scored two goals for Valencia (14-6 overall, 7-1 in league play). Mary Melia, Kristina Yoseloff and Julie Jones also scored for Valencia.
In the Century League:
Foothill 3, Villa Park 1--Kathy Shortall, Kerry Maeda and Amanda Naylor scored for host Foothill (3-2-2 in league play).
In the Empire League:
Esperanza 0, El Dorado 0--Monica Costello made eight saves for host El Dorado (10-3-5, 5-2-2). Jeanise Webb had four saves for Esperanza (17-0-3, 8-0-1).
Los Alamitos 2, Cypress 0--Jenny Reyes and Leanna Jay scored for visiting Los Alamitos (14-6-2, 5-3-1).
In the Garden Grove League:
Pacifica 2, La Quinta 0--Devon Fitzpatrick scored two goals as Pacifica broke a first-place tie with La Quinta. Pacifica is 8-0-1 in league play; La Quinta is 7-1-1. Pacifica can clinch the league title with a victory over Bolsa Grande Thursday.
Kennedy 1, Garden Grove 0--Vicky Cristosomo scored for host Kennedy (9-9-1, 5-4).
In the Olympic League:
In the Pacific Coast League:
Trabuco Hills 4, Laguna Hills 1--Linda Lunceford, Debbie Martin, Shatina Gienendell and Julie Voltin scored for host Trabuco Hills (8-7-1, 4-3).
In the Sea View League:
Corona del Mar 3, Estancia 0--Tracy Schriber scored two goals and had an assist, and Kristin Boreland had a goal and an assist for Corona del Mar (14-5-4, 6-1-2).
University 4, Newport Harbor 2--Shana Novegrod, Sarah Metz, Julie Simpson and Jane Sorenson scored for host University (9-7-3, 5-2-2). Danielle Tomasick scored both goals for Newport Harbor.
In the Sunset League:
Marina 2, Fountain Valley 1 (OT)--Julie Muche scored one minute into the second overtime for the visiting Vikings (12-6-4, 6-1-3).
In Sea View League boys’ soccer:
Saddleback 2, Tustin 0--Saddleback clinched its second consecutive league title with the victory at home. Jose Escudero and Peto Zavala scored in the first half for Saddleback (13-5-4, 6-1-2).
Corona Del Mar 6, Estancia 0--Enrique Galli scored three goals as visiting Corona del Mar (10-5-7, 4-2-3) clinched second place in the league. Jason Bennett scored two goals and Pat Callaghan one for Corona del Mar.
University 1, Newport Harbor 1--Peter Yi scored for University (5-6-4, 3-4-2) at Newport Harbor.
