The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has expanded the eligibility for its Don and Gee Nicholl Screenwriting Fellowships. Up to five grants of $20,000 each will be awarded this year to aspiring screenwriters who have not worked professionally on a screenplay or teleplay. Previously, the fellowships were limited to college students. Recipients are expected to complete a full-length feature screenplay during their fellowship year. Applications will be accepted through June 1, and information is available from the Academy office in Beverly Hills.
