Those lusty hard rockers in Guns N’ Roses must have appetite for No. 1. Their “Appetite for Destruction” keeps returning to the top spot of the Billboard magazine pop album chart. The album, which has sold more than 6 million units in 77 weeks, moved up one notch, bouncing Bobby Brown’s “Don’t Be Cruel” to No. 2. Hit singles have been keeping “Appetite” alive. The latest is “Paradise City”--No. 25 on the singles chart. Guns N’ Roses may replace itself at No. 1 with its other Top Five album--”G N’ R Lies” (No. 4).
* America’s teen queen is picking up where she left off with her smash debut album. “Electric Youth,” which entered the chart at an impressive No. 42, has already laid to rest any notions that Debbie Gibson is a flash-in-the-pan. The first single from the album, “Lost in Your Eyes,” raced up to No. 12 on the pop chart in just one month.
