John Phillip Huck; Companion of Beatrice Lillie
John Phillip Huck, 66, the companion and guardian of comic actress Beatrice Lillie for many years. He died one day after the actress’ death, his sister said. “John took Bea’s death very hard and his heart just gave out,” Georgina Huck said. “It was a heart attack brought on by the strain of her death. He had a slight attack in London some weeks ago and spent 10 days in the hospital. He was going to have a triple bypass operation, but it was all too much for him.” Miss Lillie, an inspired and unpredictable comic who starred on Broadway and on British stages for nearly half a century, died Friday at age 94. Huck died in London on Jan. 21.
