Gahr Becomes Winter Wonderland for a Day

The ABC Unified School District made it snow last week in Cerritos. Ten tons of ice were shredded into snow and dumped on the parking lot at Gahr High School for children ages 6 months to 5 years.
The parents and about 300 preschoolers who came to play in the white stuff are part of the district’s Adult School parent education program on child rearing. This is the seventh year the adult division has held Snow Day for the group. “This is the same as a field trip, only we have the field trip in our own yard. It is much safer,” said Lee Powers, adult education principal.
