Comprehensive Care Corp. of Irvine reported that earnings for the second quarter ended Nov. 30 rose 45% to $3.1 million from $2.1 million in the comparable period a year ago. The 1988 figure included an after-tax gain of about $900,000 from the sale of the company’s closed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility in Los Angeles. Revenue for the quarter increased 19% to $59.3 million from $50 million a year earlier. For the 6 months, net income increased 1% to $4.7 million from $4.6 million. Revenue totaled $117.4 million, 17% higher than the $100.2 million posted for the first 6 months last year. Comprehensive Care is a provider of treatment programs for alcohol and drug abuse.
