Local News in Brief : Newport Beach : Woman, 70, Dies as Car Crashes Into Wall

A 70-year-old Newport Beach woman died Wednesday when her Cadillac crashed into a block wall outside See’s Candy Store at Coast Highway and Narcissus Avenue in Corona del Mar, police said.
Police were not sure what caused the woman to cross from one side of the highway to the other and drive into the wall, Police Lt. Tim Newman said.
No one else was injured in the 9:30 a.m. accident. The woman, who was not wearing a seat belt, was not identified because her family had not yet been notified, county coroner’s officials said.
