Cal State Fullerton has received a $14,000 grant for a special program to encourage minority engineering students to stay in school.
The Minority Engineering Program grant, from the Pacific Telesis Foundation, will be divided into scholarships for minority students who are under-represented in the engineering work force, according to university President Jewell Plummer Cobb.
University officials said the grant assists 200 students at Cal State Fullerton.
This is the second such grant given to CSUF by the foundation, according to Addison Carter, a manager for Pacific Bell, which is owned by the Pacific Telesis Group. The foundation has contributed $300,000 to 17 universities around the state this year, Pacific Bell officials said.
