West Covina : $27,000 for Center Study
The city’s oft-repeated desire efforts to build have a cultural center received a financial boost last week when as the City Council approved spending $27,000 to hire a research firm to conduct a feasibility study.
Harrison Price Co. of Torrance won the job from a field of four bidders. The study is expected estimated to take up to four months.
This will be the city’s third look at a center in the past 20 years. This study will also investigate potential funding sources.
Previous forays have included appointing citizens committees, whose desires to build venues that for various reasons, primarily financial, were never implemented.
Members of a third citizens committee, who will work with the consultant, are expected to be named by the council in January.
