Mexico Offers Subsidies to Help Modernize Farming

MEXICO CITY — The federal government has announced that it will subsidize part of the production costs of farmers who mechanize and use advanced agricultural technology in an effort to help Mexican farmers modernize.
The announcement was contained in a decree issued by the Department of Agriculture, saying the federal government will provide low-interest loans of up to 5% of production costs for farmers who want to buy machinery or improve farming methods.
