Louisville Southern Holds Off Morningside

Louisville Southern High School of Kentucky survived a late Morningside rally to win the Santa Barbara Girls’ Tournament of Champions, 52-50, Thursday night at Santa Barbara High School.
Southern had control until the Monarchs, behind the scoring of tournament MVP Lisa Leslie, took the lead, 46-45, with less than 3 minutes left.
Southern then made three baskets, including a key 3-pointer by Kim Andres, to clinch the victory.
Leslie, a 6-foot 5-inch junior center, scored 23 points. Andres had 15, including 3 of 3 from the 3-point line.
All-American Lisa Harrison led Southern with 15 points.
