Local News in Brief : Plane Due in Burbank Has Forced Landing

A TWA flight en route to Burbank from St. Louis made an emergency landing in Wichita, Kan., on Thursday afternoon when the pilot smelled fuel in the cockpit, Federal Aviation Administration officials said.
Flight 321 landed shortly after noon in Kansas as a precaution, according to officials.
The plane was an M-80, slightly larger than a DC-10, according to TWA officials, and holds 145 passengers. The plane was scheduled to arrive at Burbank at 7:13 p.m., eight hours late. No injuries were reported, and the source of the odor was not disclosed.
