Derrick Coleman, a starter on the third-ranked Syracuse University basketball team, was arraigned on charges of harassment and criminal mischief in connection with a fight and a disturbance earlier this month, officials said.
Judge James Tormey of Syracuse City Court released Coleman, 21, on his own recognizance, pending a pretrial hearing Jan. 31.
Coleman pleaded not guilty to fourth-degree criminal mischief, a misdemeanor, for allegedly kicking in a door about 12:30 a.m. Dec. 11 during a fight at a campus center where a fraternity was holding a party. He also pleaded not guilty to the harassment charge for allegedly punching a man on campus that same morning.
