A live recording and video cassette of “Musicians for Armenia”--the benefit concert held in London’s Barbican Hall on Dec. 17 for survivors of the earthquake in the Soviet Union--are scheduled for release in January, with royalties going to the British Red Cross Armenian Earthquake Appeal, the record label BMG Classics has announced. The sold-out concert, which featured a host of noted classical musicians, was attended by Prince Charles and Princess Diana and was expected to raise more than $450,000 from donations worldwide. The concert was televised live in several countries, including the Soviet Union, and aired over the British Broadcasting Corp.’s World Service to an audience of about 25 million radio listeners.
