A 19-year-old man was arrested in Culver City in connection with last month’s $1-million robbery at Slavick’s Jewelers in South Coast Plaza, police said today.
Jereal (also known as Delvin) Deon Griffin of Hawthorne was arrested this week by Culver City Police on a warrant for driving with a suspended license, Sgt. Dan Irvin said. It was discovered then that he had several other warrants for misdemeanors in Los Angeles County and for the jewelry store robbery in Costa Mesa.
Costa Mesa Police identified him through a fingerprint found at the robbery scene, Sgt. Ron Smith said.
Four heavily armed men entered Slavick’s just before closing time on Nov. 22, ordered employees and customers to lie on the floor, then emptied the display cases. They left the mall undetected.
