Famous Amos Chocolate Chip Cookie Corp., which has changed hands twice in the last three years, has been sold again--this time to San Francisco-based Shansby Group, a consumer products buyout fund. Terms were not disclosed, but the new owners are exploring franchise opportunities for the Torrance-based cookie company, which under previous owners Jeffrey Baer and Ronald Baer of Denver had emphasized sales to supermarkets instead of franchised stores.
