USD Basketball Team Tries to Stay Hot Tonight at Montana

Idle for 9 days because of final exams, the University of San Diego men’s basketball team had its best shooting game of the season Saturday in defeating Seattle Pacific, 86-66.
Tonight, the Toreros will try to stay hot in Missoula, Mont., against the University of Montana.
USD (4-2) shot 54% from the field against Seattle Pacific. The Toreros also set season highs with 46 first-half points and eight 3-pointers.
Senior guard Danny Means made 9 of 13 shots, including 7 of 10 3-pointers, for a career-high 26 points. He scored 21 in the first half.
Craig Cottrell added 16 points (on 7-of-11 shooting) and is averaging a team-high 12.3 points per game. Gylan Dottin scored 13 points (making 6 of 11) and Keith Colvin had 10 (making 4 of 5). Dondi Bell, the leading scorer going into the game, scored only 2 points.
Montana (5-4) has six players averaging more than 8 points each. Senior center Wayne Tinkle leads the Grizzlies with 15.5 points and 8.3 rebounds a game.
Montana has four starters back from a team that USD defeated last year, 61-56.
