Dominguez Volleyball Coach Resigns

Jennifer Gorecki has resigned as volleyball coach at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Gorecki, 32, posted a 25-69 record in three years. Her best season came in 1985 when the Toros went 13-16. This season they finished 6-28.
A successor is expected to be named by March 1, according to Athletic Director Dan Guerrero.
In volleyball-talented Southern California, Gorecki, formerly of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, had come under increased scrutiny for inability to recruit top local talent. Last spring Gorecki resigned as softball coach to concentrate on volleyball.
In a statement from the school, Gorecki said her decision was “based on a desire to utilize my masters degree in athletic administration.”
Only four staff members remain from the previous athletic administration headed by Sue Carberry, who resigned as athletic director to become a high school teacher in Northern California. The school has a new baseball and softball coach and associate athletic director.
