Unidentified Man Found Dead on Mattress

San Diego homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man who was found Thursday on a mattress in a home at 4127 30th St., police spokesman Thorne Parker said.
Parker said police officers responding to a report of a “suspicious death” at 1 p.m. found Howard Freeman in the rear of the house bleeding from the face. There were no other obvious injuries, and the cause of death remains unknown pending an autopsy, Parker said.
Police identified Freeman, whose age was not available, as a transient.
