IN BRIEF : Bradley Award to Grambling Coach

SHREVEPORT, La. — Eddie Robinson, the winningest coach in college football, will receive the Gen. Omar N. Bradley Spirit of Independence Award at the Independence Bowl.
The award will be presented in halftime ceremonies at the Dec. 23, Texas El Paso-Southern Mississippi game, Mike Collier, bowl chairman, announced.
Robinson, the coach and athletic director at Grambling State University, has a 349-122-15 record for his 47-year career. More than 200 of his players have gone on to play in the NFL.
Previous Spirt of Independence winners include John Wayne, Bob Hope, Paul Harvey, President Reagan and Chuck Yeager.
