Vietnam today will repatriate the remains of 38 people believed to be U.S. servicemen missing since the Vietnam War, the largest repatriation of such remains, the Pentagon announced. The remains, gathered by the Vietnamese, are to be placed aboard a U.S. Air Force jet transport in Hanoi and flown to the Army Central Identification Laboratory in Hawaii. Also leaving Vietnam today will be 13 American servicemen who have been in Vietnam since Dec. 5, collecting information on the fate of missing servicemen and examining remains. The largest previous return of remains was 27 last April.
