WADESBORO, N.C. — An 88-year-old widow left an estate valued at nearly $2.4 million to the people of Anson County to be used to improve public education and combat heart disease and diabetes.
Elizabeth Burns Yost’s will, probated in the Anson County clerk of court’s office Tuesday, left the bulk of her estate “to promote the general welfare of the people of Anson County.”
Yost, who died Sunday, did not mention her sister and two nephews in the will.
