Pico Rivera : Torres Elected a Party Whip

U.S. Rep. Esteban Torres (D-La Puente) has been elected to a Democratic Party leadership position by the California Democratic members of Congress.
Torres is the new Southern California whip responsible for reporting the policy position of the 13 California Democrats to the House leadership. The position is Torres’ first in the party leadership structure.
Torres, elected to Congress in 1982, represents the 34th District which includes the Southeast communities of Artesia, Hacienda Heights, Norwalk, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs and part of Whittier. Torres’ district office is in Pico Rivera.
