Torres Is Elected as Party Whip

U.S. Rep. Esteban Torres (D-La Puente) has been elected to a Democratic Party leadership position by the California Democratic members of Congress.
Torres is the new Southern California whip responsible for reporting the policy position of the 13 California Democrats to the House leadership. The position is Torres’ first in the party leadership structure.
Torres represents the 34th Congressional District, which includes Baldwin Park, Bassett, Hacienda Heights, Industry, La Puente, Rowland Heights, South El Monte, Valinda and West Covina in the San Gabriel Valley.
