Peter Steinmann was named senior vice president of TransWorld Bank, the principal unit of Sherman Oaks-based TransWorld Bancorp. Steinmann, who also is manager of TransWorld’s main banking office in Sherman Oaks, previously was vice president.

A 33-year veteran of the banking industry, Steinmann joined TransWorld in 1979. The company, with assets of $195 million as of Sept. 30, operates eight branches in Los Angeles County in addition to its main office.
