Hot Oil Starts Restaurant Fire; 3 Killed, 4 Injured

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio — A fire at a restaurant killed three people, including the owner, and injured four, including a fireman who fell and broke his back, authorities said.
Deputy Fire Chief Michael Saylor said the blaze Saturday at the Baltimore Inn appeared to have started in a deep-fry vat filled with hot oil. There were no patrons in the restaurant when the fire broke out.
