With just 3:44 left, Tehachapi’s Dante Patterson intercepted a Coley Candaele pass and returned it 42 yards for a touchdown.
Tehachapi (11-2-1) scored the tying touchdown with just 50 seconds remaining on a 10-yard pass from Lance Christensen to Jason Cavale, and John Sottile provided the game-tying conversion.
The division title was the second in a row for Carpinteria (11-2-1), which beat Tehachapi, 27-0, in last year’s title game.
