Generous Residents

Because of Sam Hall Kaplan’s Oct. 30 column, I have written to the Dodgers.
Los Angeles has had a tradition of great generosity from many of its famous residents. We have had parks and museums donated by well-known figures, such as Will Rogers (State Park), Peter Strauss (Ranch), William S. Hart (County Park), Griffith Park from the Griffith family, and now Gene Autry’s donation of a museum. I also remember the fabulous donations from Norton Simon and J. Paul Getty.
It certainly would be wonderful if Bob Hope could be asked to donate some of the many acres he owns in Thousand Oaks and Agoura.
