Taking Some Shots at Hunting Stories
It certainly was heartwarming to pick up the sports section this morning (Nov. 30) and read the Outdoor Notes column about the two blind “hunters” in Wisconsin who managed to kill a couple of deer over the weekend.
How poignant that these proud men were denied the joy of seeing their bloody, lifeless trophies.
This opens up a whole new realm of sporting activities for the sightless. What will they come up with next, skeet shooting with live cats? How about urban dog fishing? Imagine the excitement of a blind angler strapped into the back of a pickup truck, trolling for strays through city streets with Alpo-baited dynamite.
These folks from Wisconsin certainly have come up with an innovative, All-American way to get the disadvantaged involved in society, challenging them to throw away that white cane and pick up a gun.
