Two escaped Orange County Jail inmates were charged Friday with robbing a Payless shoe store in a Denver suburb where they were caught after eluding authorities for 2 weeks.
Also Friday, one of the escapees, Richard Fluharty, 26, of Garden Grove, refused to sign an extradition waiver, forcing Orange County authorities to seek a governor’s warrant for his return.
The other escapee, Steven Wilson, 26, identified as a drifter from Ontario in San Bernardino County, is expected to do the same during his court hearing Monday.
