Tribune Entertainment Co. has pulled a “Geraldo” program that featured ex-Washington lobbyist Paula Parkinson, who has been quoted in various magazines claiming to have had affairs with noted politicians. Tribune, which distributes Geraldo Rivera’s talk show, said it could not corroborate some of the claims the woman made on the program--including assertions that she had affairs with at least six high-ranking political figures currently in elective office. (Parkinson came to national attention when it was learned that she took a trip with a group of politicians, including Vice President-elect Daniel Quayle, prior to his joining the Republican ticket.) Tribune said it exercised its “discretionary right as a matter of programming judgment” in killing the program and that “Rivera does not agree with this decision, but he understands it.”
