BRUSSELS — NATO air forces lost 97 jet fighters in air crashes in the 12-month period that ended Oct. 31, according to Jane’s Defense Weekly.
The London-based publication said the aircraft had a value of more than $1 billion. If support aircraft were included, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization lost a total of 128 airplanes during the one-year period, Jane’s added.
In Brussels, where NATO is based, officials had no comment.
