Switzerland’s highest court ordered the bank records of an Israeli arms dealer involved in the Iran-Contra affair be turned over to U.S. investigators. The Federal Tribunal in Lausanne lifted strict banking secrecy rules in rejecting Yaacov Nimrodi’s appeal of a decision by Swiss police to grant legal assistance in the investigation. Nimrodi told the court his account at the Geneva branch of Credit Suisse Bank was used to channel $1 million in Israeli funds to an account controlled by former White House aide Oliver L. North. Nimrodi said he was acting on a secret mission for the Israeli government.
