Theater Usher Falls to His Death

An off-duty usher exploring old rooms at Hollywood’s landmark Egyptian Theater fell 40 feet to his death when a section of ceiling caved in, authorities said today.
Erick Pineda, 22, of Los Angeles had gone to the auditorium Tuesday night, his day off, to get passes to other Hollywood Boulevard theaters, said Detective Glen Day of the Los Angeles Police Department. Apparently Pineda fell to his death as he and a friend were exploring the many rooms leading to the theater’s roof, Day said.
