Local News in Brief : 1 Man Charged, 2nd Sought in Slaying
A homeless man was charged Tuesday in the robbery and stabbing death of another transient, whose body was found on a bench in front of the Heritage Museum in Santa Monica, authorities said.
Woodrow Wilson Lockett, 24, turned himself in to Los Angeles police after being urged by his mother to surrender in the killing of Frank Flippin, 40, Santa Monica Police Detective Shane Talbot said.
Deputy Dist. Atty. James E. Ziegler said Lockett and a second man killed Flippin on Thursday night after robbing him of about $95.
Police are searching for the second suspect but declined to release any details. Lockett was being held without bail.
