Local News in Brief : Escondido
A 28-year-old man was killed in a three-car collision at Center City Parkway and Mission Avenue, police said Tuesday.
Ronald James Vornvorck of Escondido was a passenger in a car driven by 22-year-old Gregory Wilson, also of Escondido, said a police spokesman. Wilson reportedly was northbound on Center City Parkway at 10:46 p.m. Monday when his car collided with a van while making a left turn onto Mission. The van, which was driven by Chris Vosie, 32, of Valley Center, was heading south on Center City Parkway.
One of the vehicles ricocheted away from the collision and struck a third car, which was stopped at a traffic signal, police said. The driver of the car, Robert McCraw of Escondido, was not injured.
Vornvorck was pronounced dead at the scene. Wilson and Vosie were both taken to Palomar Memorial Hospital and treated for minor injuries.
