Funeral Supply Firm Closing 5 Casket Plants

The funeral supply division of Houston-based Service Corp. plans to close five casket assembly plants to improve profits, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
York Products Inc., a Service Corp. subsidiary, will close plants in Glendale, Crane and Marshfield, Mo.; Boyertown, Pa., and Ladysmith, Wis., to lower the company’s per-unit production cost.
