SAN DIEGO BRIEFLY
AT&T; has reached out and touched the San Diego Opera with a $25,000 check to help underwrite the opening night performance here of “The Peking Opera.” The 60-member company will perform excerpts that focus on spectacle and comedy. “Our selection of this particular opera has to do with the strengthening of cultural exchanges in the Pacific Rim nations,” said AT&T; spokeswoman Helen Baker, adding that it also reflects “an awareness of San Diego’s ever-growing role in the Pacific Rim.” Performances are scheduled for Jan. 25, 26 and 28 at the Civic Theatre.
