Opportunities for artists, particularly those in public art, are the subject of a four-hour seminar Thursday, sponsored by Commission for Arts and Culture and the Public Arts Advisory Council. Artist and Seattle art consultant Jack Mackie is the keynote speaker. He will talk on “Options in the Visual Arts Arena” and participate in several panel discussions on various facets of art today. Registration for the free seminar is at 2:45 p.m. in Conference Room 1 at the San Diego Gas and Electric Building, 101 Ash St. An optional 30-minute film, “Art on the Line,” and a discussion of Boston’s Transit Art Program will follow the seminar at 7:10 p.m.
