Please refer to “Morning, Noon and Night” (Oct. 16), in which the photo caption describes “a field of wildflowers.” Those are carefully planted onions in bloom. Having lived in the Imperial Valley for many years, I am well familiar with this lovely sight--even more so with the incredible aroma.
